James S. Doremus Award
James S. Doremus Award Charles Willing Jr., of Rath, Young & Pignatelli in Concord was awarded the fifth annual James S. Doremus Award by the Friends Program on May 18 at its 13th annual charity auction. He was a former Friends trustee and past president of the board. He has played a significant role in securing sponsorships, promoting audience development and was always willing to offer assistance in any way needed.

Banking Dept.
Glenn A. Perlow of Concord was nominated to the office of Deputy Bank Commissioner. This office will be effective August 1, 2012.
 
John T. Broderick, Jr.
Council on Fundraising
John T. Broderick, Jr of UNH School of Law received the thirteenth annual Make-a-Difference Donor Award at the recent Spring Conference for non-profit fundraisers at Southern New Hampshire University. The award was created to recognize donors who se unique, over-and-above contributions of time, talent or treasure have made a transformational difference to a non-profit in New Hampshire.
 
Valerie J. Nevel
NH Estate Planning Council
Valerie J. Nevel, senior financial advisor with Ledyard Financial Advisors in Hanover, NH, has been elected president of the NH Estate Planning Council for a one-year term. Nevel served previously as vice president and as a member of the councilís executive committee. The NH Estate Planning Council is dedicated to the promotion of the interests of estate planning professionals through continuing education in estate planning issues.

Steven H. Slovenski of Mesmer & Deleault in Manchester has been nominated to the Division for Children, Youth and Families Advisory Board. This office will be effective upon confirmation.
 
Kathleen N. Sullivan
NHDSC
Kathy Sullivan, managing partner at Wadleigh, Starr & Peters was unanimously re-elected by the NH Democratic State Committee to be the NH Democratic National Committeewoman for a second four-year term. She also served as chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party for eight years, ending her final term in 2008.
