Bar Foundation News: IOLTA Leadership Bank Spotlight – Bank of New Hampshire
The New Hampshire Bar Foundation, on behalf of the NH legal community, thanks Bank of New Hampshire for its steadfast support of the Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts program, and its participation as a Leadership Bank in 2012.
A Leadership Bank is...
...a bank that contributes to the success of the IOLTA program by offering interest rates of 2 percent or more on IOLTA accounts. The bank may also waive certain service fees.
The NH Bar Foundation Board this year has been individually recognizing the IOLTA Leadership banksfor their help in supporting disadvantaged citizens to obtain access to justice. At left, Douglas Hill, a NHBar Foundation board member and an attorney, presents a plaque to Thomas Garfield, Bank of NewHampshire Executive Vice President, and Rodney Dyer, an attorney and Chair emeritus of the bank.
Bank of New Hampshire’s Impact
With the revenue earned through the IOLTA Program, Bank of New Hampshire helped more than 19,000 residents receive critical civil legal services in the fiscal year ended May 31,2011. These services alleviate poverty and suffering and help the communities served by your bank, and indeed all of us living in this state. IOLTA accounts at Bank of New Hampshire generated $67,589 in interest revenue for the Bar Foundation to be used for charitable purposes.
Bank of New Hampshire, which earlier this year changed its name from Laconia Savings Bank in recognition of its statewide presence, was founded in 1831. Its headquarters is in Laconia and has 21 offices in Antrim, Bedford, Center Ossipee, Claremont, Concord (2 locations), Conway, Dover, Gilford (2), Gorham, Hillsborough, Laconia, Lincoln, Littleton, Manchester, Moultonborough, Plymouth, Rochester, Whitefield and Woodsville.
