Souter Goes Public to Promote Civics Education

Retired Justice David Souter interacts with students following his Sept. 14 public appearance, promoting the importance of civics education.
Retired US Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter attracted a capacity crowd to Concordís Capitol Center for the Arts on Sept. 14, sharing his views on the Constitution in a wide-ranging interview with PBS journalist Margaret Warner. The event was the kickoff to a statewide civic education awareness effort, Constitutionally Speaking, that will also include several events to stimulate discussion about our system of government and the need for more civics education, and the development of a civics curriculum.
