Schmidt Tapped as Head of McLane Law Firm
The McLane Law Firm recently announced that Cathleen Schmidt, former president and chief executive officer of Citizens Bank of New Hampshire and Vermont, has been tapped as the firm’s next executive director and first chief executive officer.
Schmidt spent more than five years as president and CEO at Citizens. Prior to that, she was executive vice president and retail banking director for Citizens Bank in Massachusetts.
As executive director, Schmidt will be responsible for overseeing the operational, financial, marketing and human resource functions of the firm and will work closely with the firm’s management team on day-to-day operations and strategic planning.
Schmidt will take the reins as executive director of New Hampshire’s largest law firm from Mike McCluskey, who announced that he would step down after 14 years this spring. Under his direction, the firm has grown to employ 90 attorneys practicing in four offices in two states.
A resident of Bedford, Schmidt holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Boston College. Beginning July 8, she can be reached at McLane’s Manchester office at (603) 625-6464 or by email.
