NHBA CLE to Receive National Award
The NHBA Continuing Legal Education program has been selected to receive a national award for outstanding achievement in public interest programming, presented by the Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA).
NHBA CLE was recognized for its webcast series, Learn@Lunch developed to provide training on areas frequently addressed through the Bar’s Pro Bono Referral Program. Ginny Martin, NHBA Associate Executive Director for Legal Services, and her Pro Bono staff collaborated on developing the content for the programs. A Justice Grant from the NH Bar Foundation partially subsidized production costs for Learn@Lunch.
“The NH Bar’s Pro Bono Referral Program fills the critical need to provide legal services to low-income residents. Volunteer lawyers help New Hampshire residents deal with issues from domestic violence, family law, bankruptcy and debt collection, to foreclosure prevention, eviction, federal tax disputes and basic estate planning,” stated Joanne Hinnendael, NHBA CLE director. “The NHBA CLE team is proud to be a part of this program. And, to receive ACLEA recognition on top of the satisfaction we get from giving back to the community, adds very special icing to the cake.”
It tops a special year for NHBA CLE, which earlier this year received recognition from InReachCE for excellence in online programming.
Hinnendael will receive the award at the ACLEA 2013 Annual Meeting on Aug. 6, in Baltimore.
