In Memoriam: William H. Meanix Jr.
William H. Meanix Jr. died July 11, 2013, at his home. He was 86.
Raised in Boston, William graduated from Roxbury Latin in 1944, US Naval Academy in 1949 and Harvard University in 1961. After a 30-year career in the US Navy, he went back to school and received his law degree from the University of Maine in 1979. He stayed in private practice throughout his law career.
After retiring, William used his legal expertise to support the Pacolet Area Consevatory, addressing environmental and land use issues. He was an avid track competitor and worked with middle- and high-school hurdlers.
A private military burial ceremony will be performed at sea by the US Navy.
