In Memoriam: Hon. Joseph F. Daschbach
Hon. Joseph F. Daschbach passed away Aug. 10, 2013. He was 75.
Judge Daschbach was raised in Pittsburgh, Penn., and attended the University of Notre Dame before serving in the US Navy. He received his JD from Georgetown University Law Center in 1968. He was an early adopter in the field of alternative dispute resolution and was certified as a NH Superior Court mediator. He also served as a NH District Court judge for 25 years in the Hanover and Lebanon courts.

In addition to his extensive pro bono legal work as a member of both the New Hampshire and Vermont bar associations, he was a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, director of the NH Trial Lawyers Association, and a member and past president of the Grafton County Bar Association. He also served on the board of Dartmouth National Bank, as a member of the Board of Overseers of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, as board president and trustee of Lebanon College. Additionally, he was chair of United Developmental Services board and a member of the Crossroads Academy board.
Judge Daschbach is survived by his wife, Eileen, of Lyme, and his children Mary, Ellen, and John.
