New Director for Domestic Violence Coalition
Lyn Schollett has been hired as Executive Director of the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
Dedicated to combating domestic and sexual violence, Schollett comes to New Hampshire from Illinois, where she worked as general counsel for the Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ICASA) for 16 years. She helped ICASA draft, secure passage of, and implement the first-in-the-nation standalone protective order for rape victims.
Schollett also drafted, lobbied and testified before the Illinois General Assembly on numerous landmark legislative initiatives ranging from creating a civil cause of action for gender-based violence, to ensuring that a health care provider convicted of a sex offense would lose his or her license to practice.
Schollett plans to bring to the New Hampshire coalition her capacity to identify and partner with an array of allies who will serve victims in their quest for healing and justice.
"The opportunity to be on the forefront of service provision and public policy on behalf of survivors is a unique and highly gratifying one," Schollett said. "Iím excited to bring this experience to a coalition known for its groundbreaking programs and well-established relationships with stakeholders and allies."
