Legislation Watch: More than 600 Bills Submitted for 2014
This year, the NH General Court is considering about 640 bills. That’s nearly one-third fewer than the number of bills introduced last year, but it is still a daunting number. The NH Bar Association now has a resource that helps members stay informed about legislation of concern to the legal community.
Did you hear about a proposed bill that might affect a client or your area of practice? Chances are that the NH Bar Association is monitoring its progress. You can find out whether the Bar Association’s Legislation Committee has included the bill for tracking by visiting Legislation Watch in the “For Members” area of the NH Bar website (member log-in required.)
Then, just click on the Legislation Watch logo and the “View Legislation” link. The easiest way to use the site is to select bills tagged with keywords such as “ADR” or “corporate” or “evidence.” Find the keywords listed in the “Groups” area on the right side of the Legislation Overview page.
For more information about the work of the Bar’s Legislation Committee or to provide input on legislation of concern, contact the Bar’s representative at the Legislature, John MacIntosh or Michael Iacopino, chair of the legislation committee.
