In Memoriam: Hilda Fleisher
Hilda Fleisher died Dec. 7, 2013, at the age of 83.
Fleisher graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in social work and then worked in New York City. After moving to New Hampshire and raising her family, she graduated from University of New Hampshire School of Law in 1998. Hilda was active with the League of Women Voters and the Manchester Citizen Advisory Committee, Charter Revision Commission, Model City Agency and the Community Action Program. She served as a delegate to the NH Constitutional Convention and a representative in the NH State Legislature, and was appointed to the NH Commission on the Status of Women.
She was a strong supporter of many local agencies and served on the boards of Child and Family Services of Manchester, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, Jewish Federation of New Hampshire, United Way of Greater Manchester, Child Welfare League of America, NH Civil Liberties Union, NH Legal Assistance, the Currier Museum of Art, and others.
She is survived by her four children and five grandchildren.
