In Memoriam: Ruth Tolf Ansell
Ruth Tolf Ansell of Ansell & Anderson in Bedford passed away at her home in Bedford on April 8, 2014, at the age of 60.

Born in East Orange, NJ, Ruth moved to Geneva, Switzerland, when she was 12 years old, but later moved back to the United States, where she graduated from Rhode Island College in 1975 as an education major. She then went on to Fordham Law, where she received her JD in 1981.
An avid hiker, Ruth moved to New Hampshire that same year and began her legal career as a trust and estate lawyer at the McLane firm. She received a masterís degree in tax law from Boston University in 1988. She later started her own firm, which eventually became Ansell & Anderson.
Ruth was active in charitable activities. She served as an advisor to the NH Charitable Foundation, a trustee of the Bedford Lane Trust, and in various roles for the NH Audubon Society, Granite State Ambassadors and the Mary and John Elliot Charitable Foundation. She also served on the New Hampshire Bar Foundationís IOLTA Grants Committee for many years.
Ruth leaves behind her husband, Erik; her children, Gerard and Lauren; and her stepchildren, Tristan and Lachlan.
