Foreclosure Project and NHLA Director Receive Special Awards at Annual Meeting
The NHBA Annual Meeting on June 20 in Portsmouth included a well-received CLE on law practice management that spurred several lawyers in the audience to tweet messages and photos during the day as a means of reaching out through electronic media.
The Honors & Awards Luncheon featured the presentation of Special Presidentís Awards to the collaborative efforts of HomeHelpNH, 211 and the Foreclosure Relief Project Ė the legal services effort comprising NHBA Pro Bono, the Legal Advice and Referral Center, and NH Legal Assistance. Also receiving special recognition was NHLA Executive Director John Tobin, who is retiring after nearly 40 years in legal services. (Tobin pictured at left with outgoing Bar President Jaye Rancourt.) The evening banquet at Annual Meeting featured the transition of the Bar presidency to Claremont attorney Lisa Wellman-Ally, and awards to Judge Albert Cirone Jr. (Grimes Judicial Professionalism), NH Supreme Court Clerk Eileen Fox, (Dufresne Professionalism), and State Law Librarian Mary Searles (Distinguished Service to the Profession).
