Gov. Maggie Hassan named Matt Benson of Cook, Little, Rosenblatt & Manson chair of the advisory council for Live Free and Start, a tech startup initiative. Alan Reische of Sheehan, Phinney, Bass + Green in Manchester was also appointed to the council.

Collaborative Law: Practice and Procedures, a new book that was authored in part by New Hampshire attorneys, has been honored with an Outstanding Achievement Award by the International Association for Continuing Legal Education (ACLEA). The NH lawyer-authors are Amy Connolly, Lisa Forberg, Karen Levitt and David Sayward. Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) published the book in January 2014 and received the award last month.

Granite State Organizing Project.The project is a grassroots community organization that addresses issues such as affordable housing, jobs, health care, immigration, and education to improve the lives of all New Hampshire residents.

Gail Bakis of Harvey & Mahoney in Manchester was recently elected to the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Board of Trustees.

Lawrence Kelly of Orr & Reno was recently elected to the board of directors of Kendal at Hanover, a nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) in Hanover.

Andrew Grosvenor of Orr & Reno was recently selected as a member of the 2015 Leadership Greater Concord class sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.

Gary Richardson of Upton & Hatfield in Concord was recently elected to the New Hampshire Telephone Museum Board of Directors.

L. Jonathan Ross of Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer was recently reappointed by American Bar Association President-Elect William C. Hubbard of South Carolina as a member of the ABA Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts Commission for his third one-year term. The ABA Commission supports the operation of IOLTA programs nationwide.

Linda Johnson, co-chair of the education law group at the McLane firm, was one of three attorneys nationwide appointed to the Legal Advisory Board of The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) and Campus Outreach Services (COS) to assist the organizations in launching a program focused on independent schools and the law.
