LARC Deputy Director Demos Intake System
New Hampshire Legal Advice and Referral Center Deputy Director Breckie Hayes-Snow recently presented to more than 100 participants as part of a national online training session on online intake for legal services programs.
LARC’s online intake portal is an invaluable component of the center’s efforts to provide access to justice to New Hampshire’s low-income population. More than 6,000 people a year use LARC as the first and often only source of legal assistance.
Hayes-Snow shared her experience with the development of this powerful tool and showed how the online intake system has drastically expanded access.
Since the implementation of LARC’s first-generation online intake system, LARC has nearly doubled the number of people receiving some level of assistance. According to the software vendor, Hayes-Snow helped build the online intake system “from scratch… an extensive undertaking, even more so because we were learning the new tools together.”
LARC’s was the first such system using the software. The expanded access provides benefits to many people and benefits New Hampshire Legal Assistance and the Bar Association’s legal services programs, for whom LARC provides intake services together with LARC’s own advocates.
