Foreclosure Relief Project Announces Upcoming Training Program

The NH Bar Association Foreclosure Relief Project is hosting a fall training Nov. 13 titled Be Prepared for 2015.

This half-day training will feature a presentation by Rhode Island attorney Jamie Ranney and local counsel, Tim Chevalier, discussing their recent federal district court trial in the matter of Galvin v. EMC Mortgage Corp., et al.

The trial centered on whether EMC Mortgage was the holder of the mortgage note and its right to foreclose. See Galvin v. EMC, 2014 DNH 139. The presentation will include review of pleadings and an interactive discussion about discovery, burden of proof, preparing for trial and general trial strategy.

In addition to the Galvin case study, the training will include a NH Supreme Court update of pending mortgage-related cases and an overview of the various types of cases pending with FRP attorneys.

The training is free and open to Foreclosure Relief Project attorneys or non-Project attorneys by invitation. The training will be held from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the NH Bar Center in Concord. Lunch is included. No CLE credits are available for this training. Register online.

Supreme Court Rule 42(9) requires all NH admitted attorneys to notify the Bar Association of any address change, home or office.
