Court News: NH Supreme Court Now Publishing More Orders

Starting this month, the NH Supreme Court is posting on its website final orders in all cases decided on the merits, except for confidential cases.

Currently, the Court posts slip opinions and orders from the 3JX docket, which are non-precedental orders made by three-judge panels. The court will now be adding other orders, including cases decided without oral argument. Case dispositions not on the merits, such as dismissal of a case for failure to file a brief or to pay the filing fee, will not be posted.

These orders will be posted all at once, early in the month following the month in which the cases were decided, Supreme Court Clerk Eileen Fox said.

The 3JX panel orders have been made available on a regular basis since Sept. 1, 2004. The Court said 3JX orders are posted for informational purposes only and are not for use as precedent, according to Supreme Court Rule 12-D(3).

Supreme Court Rule 42(9) requires all NH admitted attorneys to notify the Bar Association of any address change, home or office.
