Board Nominations Open for 2015
The NH Bar Association seeks nominations for positions on the NHBA Board of Governors for the membership year starting in June 2015. The petition is available online.
This year, there are vacancies for four at-large governors to be elected by the membership, including one public sector/public interest Board position, and one representing out-of-state members. These positions carry three-year terms.
Members in Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Merrimack and Rockingham counties must nominate county governors, each for a two-year term.
Current President-elect Mary Tenn automatically becomes the next Association President. Association Bylaws call for the Board of Governors to make a nomination for the next President-Elect by Dec. 31. Traditionally, the current Vice President appears on the ballot as the Board nominee for President-elect. Nominations for Vice President (one-year term), Secretary, and Treasurer (three-year terms) will also be made by petition.
County Governor board nominations require 10 signatures from voting members in the particular county; officer and at-large petitions require 25 signatures.
Petitions are due March 1, 2015; election will be conducted through online ballots starting April 1. For information about serving on the Board, contact NHBA Executive Director Jeannine McCoy.
