Court News: Scanlon Named Clerk in Manchester
Michael Scanlon, deputy clerk at Hillsborough County South Superior Court in Nashua for the past 23 years, has been selected as the new clerk of court for Hillsborough County Superior Court South in Manchester.
Scanlon replaces longtime Clerk John Safford, who is retiring. Before taking the position as deputy clerk in Nashua, Scanlon previously worked at Hillsborough North as deputy clerk from 1989 to 1992. Prior to that, Scanlon was an assistant county attorney with Hillsborough North. He also has experience in private practice.
Scanlon is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School and Merrimack College in Andover, Mass.
Remarking on Scanlon’s hiring, NH Superior Court Chief Justice Tina Nadeau said: “We are very fortunate to be able to welcome Mike as the new clerk of one the state’s busiest superior courts. I am confident that his depth of experience will make for a very smooth transition at Hillsborough North. He understands the critical role our clerks play in all matters of criminal and civil litigation. Our judges depend on clerks like Mike every day to provide steady leadership when it comes to selecting juries, managing trials and dealing with all types of records.”
