In Memoriam: Jane Babin
Jane Babin of Laconia passed away March 4, 2015, at the age of 58.
Babin earned a bachelorís degree in English and business administration and a masterís degree in human resources management before acquiring a law degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law.
Babin spent her career at Plymouth State University as a professor in business. She received the 2001 Northeast Regional Teaching Excellence Award and was presented an honorary doctor of humane letters and the Silas H. Pearl Medallion for Distinguished Lifetime Service by PSU. In 2007, Babin published her book, Pearls in the Pond, a collection of poems and writings.
Due to her battle with ALS (Lou Gehrigís Disease), Babin retired in 2005. She then devoted her time to speaking at churches and medical schools about the human face of ALS and inspiring medical professionals to provide compassionate care for the terminally ill. She is survived by her son, Christian Babin.
