In Memoriam: Homer Clark Jr.
Homer Clark of Boulder, Colo., died March 19, 2015, at the age of 96.
Born in Chicago in 1918, Clark was raised in Long Island and New York City. He attended Amherst College and Harvard Law School.
Clark served in the US Navy during World War II and was posted to the Abner Reed, a destroyer, which sailed to the Aleutian Islands where the Japanese were active.
After the war, he served as a judicial clerk for Judge Peter Woodbury in the First Circuit, and for a short time he was in private law practice in New Haven, Conn.
Clark started his teaching career as part of the law faculty at the University of Montana. In 1953, he joined the University of Colorado law faculty where he played a key role in recruiting top faculty and elevating standards for the school.
Clark is survived by his three children and one granddaughter.
