Bequest to Fund NH Students Attending Maine Law
Janet O’Neill Connell (left) and her sister, NH lawyer Martha O’Neill (right), speak with Peter Pitegoff, dean of the University of Maine School of Law, at a June 18 event in Manchester. The event honored the legacy and family of Judge Frank B. Clancy of Nashua.
Katherine Clancy O’Neill, the judge’s daughter, made a $60,000 gift to Maine Law as part of her will. She died last year at the age of 91. Her bequest will allow Maine Law to provide more scholarship support to students from New Hampshire for years to come. Janet and Martha are daughters of Katherine Clancy O’Neill.
The Hon. Frank B. Clancy was a 1910 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law. He was a prominent resident of Nashua in the first half of the 20th century, serving as the city’s municipal judge for more than 30 years.
