Avoid Missteps: Traps for the Unwary Book Updated
Updated for the sixth edition, the NH Bar Associationís Traps for the Unwary includes tips and advice on everything from attachments, auto accident coverage, and ethical questions, to social host liability, wills, taxes, and much more.
The 80-page book was updated this year by members of the NHBA New Lawyers Committee. Intended primarily for newer attorneys, the book is also a useful refresher for lawyers handling cases outside their regular practice areas. Traps was originally published in 1991, with subsequent editions in 1994, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2009 and 2015.
The sixth edition incorporates the 2013 revision of the NH Rules of Civil Procedure and recent changes to several aspects of probate and estate law. Ashley Scott, a member of the New Lawyers Committee who worked on several sections of the book, said typical entries point out potentially overlooked procedural steps that could be consequential.
Areas of law covered include: Alcohol, service of; Attachments; Auto accidents and insurance; business corporations; ethics; family law; landlord/tenant; litigation; mechanicís liens; probate; real estate; small claims; and workers compensation.
