Nominations Sought for Pro Bono Award
Bruce E. Friedman
In conjunction with the celebration of Pro Bono Month in New Hampshire in October, the New Hampshire Bar Association Pro Bono Referral Program and the University of New Hampshire School of Law are now accepting nominations for the 2015 Bruce E. Friedman Pro Bono Award.
This award is named in honor of the late founder of the civil practice clinic at then Franklin Pierce Law Center, now UNH School of Law, and a legend in the world of civil legal services in New Hampshire.
Nominees must be graduates of UNH Law, licensed to practice law in New Hampshire and have made significant and exemplary contributions to the delivery of volunteer legal services for the disadvantaged through direct representation of low-income NH clients, and/or supporting and strengthening the institutions and systems for delivering pro bono legal services in New Hampshire. Preference will be given to those candidates who deliver direct legal services on a pro bono basis.
Past winners have included Marilyn McNamara and Steve Scudder.
To nominate a candidate for this award, please send a letter of no more than two pages that addresses the above criteria to Ginny Martin for committee review.
In the email subject line, please reference “Friedman Award.” Additional material or information (newspaper articles, etc.) may be provided, not to exceed eight pages. Nominations are due by noon Monday, Sept. 21.
The award will be presented at a reception held at the UNH Law Center on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.
