Court News: Comment Sought on Proposed Criminal Rules

The bar, bench, legislature, executive branch and public are invited to submit comment on the proposed new unified rules of criminal procedure.

The NH Supreme Court approved the proposed rules in 2010, but adoption was deferred due to ongoing projects, such as the implementation of e-filing.

Earlier this year, the court asked an ad hoc committee comprised of attorneys Richard Guerriero, Christopher Johnson, James Vara, Thomas Velardi and Nancy Wickwire to review the proposed new rules of criminal procedure.

The committee has completed its review and submitted a set of revised rules to the court.

The full text of the proposed rules can be found with the order on the courtís website. Comments should be submitted by Nov. 12 to rulescomment@courts.state.nh.us.

If you are in doubt about the status of any meeting, please call the Bar Center at 603-224-6942 before you head out.
