Ed Cross, staff attorney at the NH Public Defender, received a 2016 award for Exemplary Public Service from his alma mater, Cornell Law School, on Friday, Feb. 26, in New York City. The award recognizes dedication to public service work among Cornell Law School alumni.
Michael E. Jones, who recently retired from the NH Circuit Court bench as a special justice, has had his latest book, Rules of the Game: Sports Law, published by Rowman & Littlefield. Additionally, for the fourth consecutive summer Olympics, he was commissioned to create a poster for the sport of triathlon. The Rio 2016 Olympic poster is the fourth poster Jones has created for the USA Team Triathlon.
Eileen Fox, Clerk of the NH Supreme Court, was elected to the Office of Vice-President of the National Conference of Appellate Court Clerks at the organizationís annual meeting.
The National Conference of Appellate Court Clerks was established in 1973 with the objectives of improving the skills and knowledge of its members, promoting effective court administration, providing a forum for the exchange of ideas, and maintaining facilities for the dissemination of information concerning appellate court operations. Its membership is comprised of state, federal, and military appellate and Supreme Court clerks from the United States, District of Columbia, territories and possessions of the United States, and tribal appellate courts.
