Michele Kenney, a partner at Pierce Atwood, has been appointed to the US District Court for the District of New Hampshire Federal Court Advisory Committee. The committee serves as a sounding board on issues facing the court. It studies and recommends changes to local rules, considers ways to improve court operations and procedures, and functions as a liaison between practitioners and the court.

Marybeth Stramaglia of Salem, a longtime attorney for Dell Inc., was appointed to Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains Board for Directors.

James Vara has been named the new drug czar to help New Hampshire fight a heroin and opioid addiction epidemic. He is tapped for the position of Governor’s Advisor on Addiction and Behavioral Health.

The Agnes M. Lindsay Trust establishes a dental health initiative In recognition of Hon. Gary W. Boyle of Littleton, NH, retired and former judge of the Grafton County Probate Court and 2nd Circuit-Probate Division in Haverhill, NH. Boyle presided over the review of the annual accounting of the Agnes M. Lindsay Trust since the early 1980’s anduntil his retirement in 2014. Through the years at the Trust hearings, Boyle expressed concern for the “lack of access to dental health for low-income children and adults with special needs and other vulnerabilities who lack the voice to be heard.”

John Broderick Jr., former NH Supreme Court chief justice, has been selected as the recipient of the first-ever John E. Tobin Jr. Justice Award, recognizing his work advocating for expanded access to justice for vulnerable and disadvantaged New Hampshire residents. The award will be presented at the Campaign for Legal Services Kickoff Breakfast event May 26 at the Grappone Center in Concord. For more information, visit www.nh-cls.org.
