In Memoriam: Susan E. Marshall, Philadelphia
Susan E. Marshall in Philadelphia passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, after a three-year illness.
A native of Wakefield, Mich., Marshall attended Michigan State University. As a Fulbright scholar, she studied at Bonn University and subsequently earned a Masterís degree in German from the University of Pennsylvania. Marshall and her husband, Douglas, lived in New Hampshire for many years where she was awarded a degree in law from the UNH School of Law.
Marshall worked for nearly 20 years as an attorney for the New Hampshire Legislature. The author of a history of the New Hampshire Constitution, she travelled to several former Soviet republics to assist in explaining the function of legislatures in a democracy. Marshall loved the outdoors where she pursued her passion for birding.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas; her daughter, Laura Marshall and son-in-law, Jeffrey Grinnell of New York City; and her son, Andrew Marshall, daughter-in-law, Lasette Marshall, and grandson, William J. Marshall of Mt. Lebanon, Pa.
In memory of our colleague, the New Hampshire Bar Association Board of Governors has made a contribution to the NH Bar Foundation.
