Section Connection: Joint Section Meeting: Business Succession and Sundaes
A total of 38 members of the NH Bar Association Trust and Estate Law Section and the Corporation, Banking and Business Law Section met Aug. 2 at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord for an informative presentation on business succession planning.
The meeting featured a make-your-own ice cream sundae bar to sweeten the deal.
“The attendance was excellent and well balanced between the two sections,” said Tony Sayess, chair of the Corporation, Banking and Business Law Section.
The panelists for the discussion on business succession planning included Michelle Arruda of Devine Millimet in Concord, Dennis Haley Jr. of McLane Middleton in Manchester, and Angela Martin of Devine Millimet in Manchester.
The speakers each addressed different aspects of business succession planning based on their own professional perspectives, with an emphasis on practical application. Questions and discussion were encouraged. Those who attended were able to learn from each other and network as part of what has for generations been one of New Hampshire’s great traditions – the ice cream social.
“It is great to have opportunities to network with members of other sections with different skill sets,” Sayess said.
Various sections throughout the year plan joint events and workshops to leverage the expertise of their members on issues that are at the forefront for lawyers and businesses across the Granite State.
