Chief Justice Broderick, Nina Gardner, and Chief Justice Dalianis talk about budget challenges ahead for the judicial branch and all of state government.
Only days after officially taking over her new post, Supreme Court Chief Justice Linda Stewart Dalianis was a special guest at the NHBA Leadership Academy session on the judicial branch.
Dalianis discussed some of the challenges she sees ahead, along with retired Chief Justice John T. Broderick, Jr., and Nina Gardner, executive director of the NH Judicial Council. The Dec. 20 session, organized by District Court Judge Paul Moore, Joceline Champagne and Paul Pudlowski, also included a panel discussion with Superior Court Judge Larry Smukler.
In small groups and in the panel discussions, the Leadership Academy participants talked about insights each gained from shadowing a district court judge or family division master, and brainstormed ideas for improving court processes to make them more efficient and provide better services.
The Leadership Academy next convenes on Friday, Jan. 21 for a program on working with the news media, and in February, the participants will meet with the NHBA Board of Governors.
