Elizabeth Bailey, a shareholder at Sheehan Phinney, was recently elected secretary to the board of trustees of Leadership New Hampshire for the 2017-2018 program year.

Peter Guffin, who heads Pierce Atwood’s Privacy and Data Security practice, has been selected by the US Department of Commerce and European Commission to serve as an arbitrator for the EU-US Privacy Shield arbitration program. The 16 arbitrators selected will be responsible for resolving privacy disputes between EU citizens and US organizations electing to participate in the EU-US Privacy Shield framework.

Patricia Morris of Center Barnstead was recently appointed chair of Governor Chris Sununu’s Governor’s Commission on the Humane Treatment of Animals. The governor issued an Executive Order revamping the commission on Aug. 17. Morris, a member of the Equine Association who operates an animal law practice, was profiled in the Sept. 20 issue of Bar News.

Gregory Sullivan of Malloy & Sullivan in Hingham, Massachusetts, received the 2017 Quill & Ink Award from the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications at the school’s First Amendment event on Oct. 5 in Manchester. Sullivan was honored for his tenacious defense of First Amendment rights and his efforts to educate the public, including aspiring journalists, about their rights and responsibilities under the law.
