2016 Justice Grant Awards

The NH Bar Foundation Board of Directors announces the recipients of the 2016 Justice Grant Awards. This year, $31,300 was granted to 10 New Hampshire organizations to fund projects such as internships, publications and initiatives. Funded by interest revenue from endowed funds contributed to the NH Bar Foundation, projects and programs that receive Justice Grants encourage innovation in the administration of justice, provide community education about the law and improve access to the legal system.

Where do you IOLTA?

The NH IOLTA program funds critical legal aid services in New Hampshire communities. Interest earned on your IOLTA accounts support organizations such as Disability Rights Center - NH, New Hampshire Legal Assistance, Legal Advice & Referral Center and the NH Pro Bono Referral Program.

Did You Know?
In FY2015, 54 percent of IOLTA revenue was generated through 11 banks that offered up to 2 percent on pooled trust accounts. All of the IOLTA revenue was then granted out to civil legal services in New Hampshire.

Leadership Circle Institutions – maximize revenue by paying up to 2 percent on IOLTA balances and waiving some fees.

Partner Institutions – contribute to IOLTA programs by paying 1 to 1.99 percent and waiving some fees.

Sustaining Institutions – contribute to IOLTA by paying at least 0.5 percent on IOLTA balances and waiving some fees.

Participating Institutions – our thanks to all of the financial institutions that participate in NH IOLTA and aid the program by waiving some fees.

Thanks to the successful partnership between attorneys and IOLTA financial institutions, New Hampshire Bar Foundation has been able to direct more than $31.7 million over the past 33 years to organizations that provide civil legal services and educate the public about the justice system.
