Harris Takes NHBA Helm

The passing of the gavel to new NHBA President Scott Harris.
Past President Mary Tenn presented Harris with the ceremonial gavel.

Scott Harris, a shareholder and director of the litigation department at McLane Middleton in Manchester, officially took office as NHBA President last weekend at the association’s 2017 Annual Meeting at the Mountain View Grand in Whitefield, NH. Harris, who has served in the President role for much of his year as President-elect, helped spur renewed interest in a resort-based membership meeting and has been instrumental in bringing national thought-leaders in law and technology to NHBA membership meeting CLEs over the past two years.

Good Luck Objects and Rituals

Do you have a lucky pair of socks? How about a restaurant you always visit or a meal you always eat before a big meeting or hearing? Bar News would like to hear from readers about their keepsakes and good-luck rituals, either current or from the past, for a potential feature.

Please email us with a description (and photo if possible) of your lucky object or place, along with your thoughts about why it is or was helpful to you in securing positive outcomes.

Please send submissions by Friday, July 14. NHBA board member Cathy Shanelaris inspired us to delve into this topic with this great column last year.

Take the Survey on Remote Access

e-Court

This survey is designed to assess attorneys’ needs and preferences related to accessing court documents online. The NH Judicial Branch has also created this survey for self-represented parties. The results of the surveys will help guide the NH e-Court Project’s development of remote access to electronically filed cases, which could become available as early as this fall.

Bookmark the Electronic Services page on the NH Judicial Branch website and watch this space and the “Court News” section of the monthly Bar News for regular updates on the NH e-Court Project.
