Bar News Seeks Criminal Law Articles - 12/19

The January issue of Bar News will feature a special section on criminal law. Articles should address case law, procedure, or intersections of criminal law with other areas. Opinion pieces and point-counterpoint articles also considered.

For more information or to propose an article, please email Editor Kristen Senz. Articles in Bar News practice area sections are generally 800-1,000 words. Deadline is Dec. 19.

NHBA Midyear Meeting Award Nominations – 12/23

Nominations are now being accepted for annual awards to be presented at the NH Bar Association Midyear Meeting, scheduled for Friday, March 10, at the Radisson/Center of NH in Manchester.

Submit nominations, along with an explanation of why the nominee is deserving of the award, to Denice DeStefano, or mail to NHBA Midyear Meeting Award, 2 Pillsbury St., Suite 300, Concord, NH 03301.

NH e-Court Workshops and Webinars

The NH Judicial Branch’s electronic filing software platform, File and Serve, offers webinars every month. To register, go to the court’s Electronic Services page, click the Attorney e-Filing link in the middle of the page, select Web Training Sessions under Self-Help, and sign up for any of the following:

  • Firm Administrator webinars at 3 p.m. – Nov. 29, Dec. 14, Dec. 27
  • E-Filing webinars at 2 p.m. – Nov. 9, Dec. 7

Save the Date: 100th Anniversary Event – 6/1

A special dinner event will be held Thursday, June 1, celebrating the centennial of the admission of the first woman to the New Hampshire bar, Agnes Winifred McLaughlin. The NH Bar Foundation is working with other organizations to coordinate the event, which will be held at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord.
