The NH Bar Association is seeking nominations for positions on the NHBA Board of Governors for the membership year starting in June 2016. The petition is available on the Bar's website.

Open Positions:
  • Vice President
  • Governor at Large (one vacancy, three-year term)
  • County governors (two-year terms) representing:
    • Belknap County
    • Carroll County
    • Hillsborough North County
    • Hillsborough South County
    • Strafford County
    • Sullivan County
  • Association delegate to the American Bar Association House of Delegates (two-year term)
Submitting a Petition: No fewer than 10 active member signatures are required for a nomination petition for a governor representing a county; no fewer than 25 active member signatures are required for an officer, governor at large or public sector governor. Bar members may sign only one petition for a county position on the Board representing the county where the signer's principal office is located.

Petitions are due March 1, 2016; election to be through online ballots sent to eligible members starting April 1. For information about serving on the board, contact NHBA Executive Director Jeannine McCoy.

Send your nomination by this Friday either by email to ddestefano@nhbar.org or mail to: NHBA Midyear Meeting Award, 2 Pillsbury St., Suite 300, Concord, NH 03301-3502. The awards will be presented at the Midyear Membership Meeting on March 4, 2016, in Manchester.

Nominations for the Hollman Gender Equality Award will be accepted until Jan. 5.

The 2016 NH Bar Association Midyear Meeting will be an interactive day exploring the changing paradigm for law practice and professionalism in the 21st century. Registration will be available soon.

The Bar Center will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 25. The Bar Center will reopen on Monday, Dec. 28 and will be closed for New Year's Day, Jan. 1. There will be no e-Bulletin on Wednesday, Dec. 23.



The NH General Court is implementing a new software platform, and its bill search engine is not functioning. Consequently, the NHBA Legislation Watch website, which relies on a feed from state's site, does not have any of the bills introduced for the 2016 session. Members can access bills that have been introduced using this link. We will post a notice when Legislation Watch is updated.
