Mount Washington Bus Tour
Saturday, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. (meet in hotel lobby at 8:15 for shuttle)
$57 per person
Join us for a guided bus tour of Mount Washington’s famed Auto Road! Guided tours offer a unique opportunity to learn the true nature and history of Mount Washington. Each dedicated tour guide has extensive experience on the Auto Road and in the local area; they are part geologists, historians, and entertainers. On this tour, you get intimate, first-hand knowledge of the White Mountains, along with stories and anecdotes about the people that have lived, adventured, and recreated here.
Hiking
Saturday, 9:30 a.m.
$5 to $10 depending on the trail (pay at trailhead)
With over 1,200 miles of trails, the White Mountains offer some of the best hiking in the country. Join the NHBA’s own Chris Meier on a scenic moderate guided hike or choose from a variety of easier family-friendly self-guided trails. Self-guided options include: Thorne Pond Trail, a short, flat 1-mile loop with tranquil views; the ever-popular Diana’s Baths with its breathtaking pools and cascades ($5 parking fee); and the Saco River Trail, a 3-mile out-and-back route with plenty of side trails to explore.
Brewery Bus Tour
Saturday, 12:30 – 4:30 p.m. (meet in hotel lobby at 12:15 for shuttle)

Climb aboard for a spirited tour of three of the area’s most popular breweries! First up is Ledge Brewing Company, a small-batch brewery and tasting room beloved for its fine ales and lagers – and more recently, the authentic, Mexican-style tacos available at its newly opened taco bar. Next, cross the border into Maine to visit Saco River Brewing for an ice-cold IPA and tasty food truck fare in a relaxed setting with outdoor seating. Tuckerman Brewing Company is the last stop on the tour, where you can unwind with a pint or two while enjoying live music in the bustling open-air beer garden. Oh, and did we mention? The first flight of the tour is on us!

E. Donald Dufresne Award for Outstanding Professionalism
Bruce Felmly is a distinguished trial lawyer with a career spanning over four decades. With an extensive record of trying cases in state and federal courts to both juries and judges, he has a national reputation as a well-regarded legal advocate. Felmly’s commitment to the legal profession includes service as president of the New Hampshire Bar Association and decades on the New Hampshire Board of Bar Examiners, currently serving as vice chair. His leadership and expertise have left a lasting mark on the state’s legal community.
Felmly’s expertise as a trial lawyer led to his selection as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, where he served as a Regent on the college national board, contributing significantly to the advancement of trial advocacy standards. His commitment to excellence is further highlighted by his recognition in Chambers USA, where he holds the esteemed Bank One ranking for Litigation: General Commercial. In addition, his inclusion in Best Lawyers in America encompasses four distinct litigation practice areas.
Felmly is the author of the highly regarded American Bar Association publication, Preparing for Trial – 60 Days and Counting, a handbook offering invaluable insights into trial preparation methodologies, evidence organization, and witness protection.

To honor the memory of E. Donald Dufresne this award is presented to an attorney that best fits the following: A professional lawyer is an expert in law pursuing a learned art in service to clients and in the spirit of public service; and engaging in these pursuits as part of a common calling to promote justice and public good.
Justice William A. Grimes Award for Judicial Professionalism
The Honorable David King serves as the administrative judge of the New Hampshire Circuit Court. He was initially appointed as the presiding judge in the Coos County Probate Court in 1990 and the administrative judge of the New Hampshire Probate Courts In 2007. In addition to his duties as administrative judge, he also serves as the presiding judge of the Complex Trust Docket. Prior to becoming a full-time judge, he was a partner in the law firm of Waystack & King in Colebrook for 22 years.
He is a 1981 graduate of Plymouth State College and received his JD from Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1984. Judge King has served on several non-profit boards including 22 years on the board of directors of the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, with 20 years as its president. He is a former member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives and was a delegate to the 17th Constitutional Convention in 1984.
In 2000, Judge King was named Outstanding Hospital Trustee of the Year by the New Hampshire Hospital Association. He was awarded the Vickie M. Bunnell Award for Community Service by the NHBA in 2005 and the Innovator of the Year award in 2021 by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges at their annual meeting in St. Louis.

To honor the memory of Justice William A. Grimes this award is presented to a judge who best reflects the highest standards of integrity, legal knowledge and ability, judicial temperament, diligence and compassion.
Distinguished Service to the Legal Profession
Richard Guerriero is a partner at Lothstein Guerriero, PLLC. He was the president of the NHBA for the 2021-2022 term. Before that, he served for over 10 years as a Bar officer, board member, and committee member. In 2009, he received the New Hampshire Bar Foundation’s Frank Rowe Kenison Award for Community Service.
Guerriero’s practice focuses on criminal defense in state and federal court. He has tried many cases in New Hampshire and, earlier in his career, in Louisiana, as well as other states occasionally. He has argued at state supreme courts and federal appellate courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
Before entering private practice, Guerriero was the director of training and litigation support at the New Hampshire Public Defender for 12 years and a public defender for a total of 20 years. He earned his law degree from Louisiana State University in 1984, where he was on the Louisiana Law Review. He clerked for Justice James Dennis at the Louisiana Supreme Court.
Guerriero was chosen as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in 2007. He was also recognized as a “Champion of Justice” by the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2005 and by the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 1991.
