Reports To: MARCOM Director
FLSA Status: Hourly; Full-Time
Summary: The Graphic Design & Editorial Content Coordinator supports the efforts of the MARCOM Department by creating compelling editorial and visual content across a variety of print and online media. This position works closely with the Publications Editor to research, write, and edit content for the monthly Bar News and other NHBA publications. This role is also responsible for maintaining and applying the NHBA’s branding guidelines for a consistent, high-quality look and feel. The coordinator serves as customer service representative / “point person” for our internal and external clients. They also are responsible for maintaining a social media and marketing calendar so that project deadlines are met.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:
Copywriting and Editing:
- Assist with drafting promotional copy, e-mail blasts, and newsletters, including compiling and sending the NHBA’s weekly e-Bulletin email using Constant Contact.
- Draft editorial content for Bar News and other NHBA publications. This is expected to include in-person, phone, email, and videoconferencing interviews.
- Suggest stories and generate headline ideas in alignment with reader preferences
- Proofread Bar News and other NHBA publications as needed prior to publication
- Cultivate relationships within the legal community with both individual attorneys and law- or legal aid-related organizations in order to identify news items and improve professional network of news sources
- Maintain the NHBA’s social media accounts, regularly drafting and posting content across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
Graphic Design and Branding:
- Create professional-quality booklets, pamphlets, flyers, ads, digital banners, social media artwork, signage, and other similar pieces
- Help shape and elevate the NHBA brand, maintaining a clear, consistent, and professional “personality” for members and the public alike
- Work with staff from other departments to ensure that all communications to members and the public are consistent with the NHBA’s branding guidelines
- Photography and video skills are a plus, but not required
Collaboration:
- Schedule/participate in meetings with all NHBA departments to gauge and support their design and marketing needs
- Brainstorm ideas and plans for marketing initiatives
- Work collaboratively with team members, NHBA staff, members, vendors, and others
plus, other tasks as may be assigned at the NHBA management team’s discretion.

Minimum Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Writing, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Related professional work experience in a similar capacity, preferably requiring daily writing
- Experience in managing competing priorities, coordinating multiple, quick-turnaround projects, and working with tight deadlines
- Experience working at a Bar Association, law firm, or for legal clients is a plus
Professional Skills:
- Proficiency with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Outstanding writer and proofreader
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of style guides (AP, Chicago, etc.) and proofreading symbols
Personal Qualities and Attributes:
- Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and bring innovative solutions to marketing challenges
- Ability to simplify and clarify complex ideas
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and tact/diplomacy; ability to work with various internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to see other points of view and constructively receive feedback
