The New Hampshire Bar Association’s We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution

Congressional Hearing dates have been set. The district level hearings will be held on December 6, 2019 (snow date: December 9) , from 9 a.m. to noon.

The state finals will be held on January 10, 2020 (snow date: January 13), morning session 9 a.m. to noon – Lunch is provided – afternoon session 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. State Champion named at 4:30 p.m. Volunteer for both sessions or choose morning only or afternoon only. District Hearings and State Finals are held at the Legislative Office Building in Concord.

The WTP program is an instructional program with the goal of promoting civic responsibility and competence in students. Teachers and students work together learning the history and principles of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The culmination of their learning is the simulated Congressional Hearings. Volunteer judges and timers are needed for both dates.

Applications are taken on a first come, first served basis for judge assignments – and then assignments for timers will be made in order to have back-up judges in case of cancellations. Willingness to serve as a timer is appreciated.
