Supreme Court and two Superior Court vacancies this Fall will soon be considered by the Judicial Selection Commission.

One position on the Superior Court requires a land use background:

The land use docket Superior Court judge shall have knowledge and experience in land use and real property law and shall be assigned to preside over all appeals from decisions of local land use boards, including but not limited to decisions of municipal planning boards, zoning boards, historic district commissions, and conservation commissions throughout the state.  The land use docket judge shall be assigned to sit in Hillsborough County Northern District and shall be assigned to preside over other cases in other county locations as the Chief Justice of the Superior Court may require.

  • Each new candidate must submit a paper application and all accompanying documents, including writing samples, via standard mail to the Chairman, Attorney Charles Douglas, 14 South Street, Suite 5, Concord, NH 03301 as well as an email copy to chuck@nhlawoffice.com.
  • Completed applications must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Reapplication

Candidates who previously submitted an application to this Commission and wish to reapply now may do so by emailing the Judicial Selection Commission Chair at chuck@nhlawoffice.com to confirm your intent to be considered, but to rely on your prior application. A re-applicant must also submit an updated affirmation regarding professional conduct and an updated consent and release, which are Exhibits A, B, and C to the 2023 application.  Please print Exhibits A, B and C and complete and scan in as a PDF document and attach the updated Exhibits A, B, and C to an email.  All updates are due by the application deadline of 5 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023.
