Biography
William E. Howell, MBA, ASA, CPA/ABV/CFF
Bill is the founder and Principal of Howell Valuation, LLC with over thirty-five years of professional experience. He has performed 500+ business valuations of closely held companies across many industries for various purposes. Additionally, his background includes performance in senior management roles with two closely held companies in Chief Executive Officer (non-family manager in a family business) and Chief Financial Officer positions. He previously worked with Coopers & Lybrand as an Audit Manager. Bill is a graduate of Bucknell University and has an MBA in Finance from Boston College.
Bill combines his experiences in senior management roles and business valuation to produce defendable conclusions. He has been designated by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) as a Champion for the Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) designation in NH, ME, CT, VT, and MA for professionals who would like to learn more about the ABV credential. In 2012, the AICPA designated him as its National ABV Champion of the Year. Bill has been active with the NH Society of CPAs as a member of its Board of Directors (2012-2018) and the Chairperson of its Business Valuation Committee (2011-2015). He was also the Chairperson of the Business Valuation Committee for the Maine Society of CPAs (2013-2016). Bill has spoken on numerous occasions on business valuation and exit strategy planning matters for CPAs, attorneys, business owners and banks.
