The NH Bar Association is committed to improving civics instruction in schools through its Law Related Education programs. The hope is that more civics and social studies instruction will better prepare students for participation as citizens. Programs include lesson plans, curriculum resources and guides such as Beyond High School: A Guide to Your Rights and Responsibilities.

For more than seven decades, the NH Bar Association has organized and sponsored programming designed to increase civics knowledge among New Hampshire students, with help of volunteer attorneys. The NHBA offers numerous programs and resources, details of which are listed below.

We the People

  • What: A civics education  program promoting the understanding of  American constitutional democracy and its contemporary relevance.

  • Who: Grades 5-8
  • What: A project based civic education program emphasizing responsible participation in local and state government.
